报告人简介: Prof. Steve Granick is an elected member of U.S. National Academy of Science, and American Academy of Arts and Sciences, fellow of American Physical Society. He is also a recipient of APS National Prize for Polymer Physics, ACS National Prize for Surface and Colloid Science, and Paris-Sciences Medal. He attended Princeton University for his undergraduate, University of Wisconsin for graduate study and obtained Ph.D in chemistry in 1982 with renowned polymer scientist J. D. Ferry, thereafter he received Postdoc training from Nobel-Laureate P-G de Gennes at College de France and M. V. Tirrel at University of Minnesota. Prof. Granick was Rachel Chair Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, professor of department of chemistry and physics, at University of Illinois (UIUC) until 2014, before he moved to direct centre for soft and living matter, Institute of Basic Science, in South Korea in 2015. He has published over 300 papers in leading journals like Science, Nature, Nat. Mat., JACS, PNAS，Phys. Rev. Lett.
