Brief CV :
Roman Boulatov received his PhD from Stanford University in 2002 for work on metalloporphyrins as oxygen reduction electrocatalysts, and a Postdoctorate at Harvard with G. Whitesides working on unconventional forms of microfabrication and energy conversions. He was Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana (2005 - 2012) and have been Reader in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool since 2012.
His interests include the development and application of chemical tools to study macromolecular dynamics and response of soft matter to mechanical loads, the discovery of unconventional means of utilizing solar energy, such as polymer photoactuation and molecular solar thermal batteries, and the development of empirical molecular-dynamics tools for modeling polymers.
